Gray Wolf (Canis lupus)

Wolves live in packs in which it is divided into several different hierarchy. They hunt in packs in which they surround their prey and drive it into other wolf pack members waiting. Wolf pups emerge from their dens and are guarded by other wolves that at times are not their parents. They are more subordinate and help with the rearing and watching of the young pups. They are as big as the adults by the age of 6 - 7 months. Wolves have few enemies, but man is in direct competition with the wolf. They are endangered and in immediate danger of extinction.
