Minnesota supports a strong reintroduction program and currently wolf species can occasionally be seen in the Agasssiz wilderness area and other parts of Minnestoa, especially Superior National Forrest and Isle Royale. There has also been a pack that has migrasted down from Canada to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Despite evidence that suggests we need this species to balance out predator-prey relationships, some still advocate systematically killing them off on the grounds that they kill livestock. Because of the fierce competition between man and beast, their decline has been devastating but a comeback is hopeful.
