The white tailed deer, Buck and Doe, also known as ( Odocoileus virginianus) or just plain White Tailed Deers, is medium sized native to America. It is tan or brown in summer and grayish brown in winter. It has white on it�s throat and around its eyes and nose. They are the largest wild animal in North Virginia and are found in forests, fields, brushy areas, and alongside streams and marshes. The White Tailed Deer is a fast moving nocturnal animal, who can be seen feasting in early dawn till late dusk. They are also known to frequent Rocky areas, but live mainly near wetlands in mounteanous regions. Considered common, but some Bucks and Does are great at adapting to transplantation. A large Buck can weigh up to 300 lbs, be 4 feet and have a antler span up to 3 ft across. Female Deers can have up to 3 fawns and usually stay with the mother for the first year till she runs them off before giving birth again. Status at best is sustaining.
